How to Join

Joining SSCU is simple. You may apply in person, online, or by simply completing the application under the "Apply for Membership" Tab on this website and mailing it in to any SSCU Office. Our location information is listed below.

To Apply in Person:
When applying for membership in person, please bring the following items with you:

  • Drivers License, State Issued Identification Card, Passport, or Military Identification Card
  • Social Security Number or University Identification Number
  • $25.00 to establish your membership. This deposit is frozen and therefore you may not withdrawal the $25.00 while the membership is open. Should you decide to close your membership for any reason, the $25.00 will be returned to you.

Upon coming to an SSCU Office, a friendly Specialist will welcome you. They will go over a brief Power Point Presentation about the Credit Union's products and services, review your Credit Report with you, open your membership and answer any questions you may have. The whole process will take approximately 40 minutes.

Since we know your time is of great value, you may call to make an appointment with a Specialist to ensure your wait time is minimal, or you may come in anytime at your convenience.

Apply Online:
You may also apply online, by selecting the "Power At Your Fingertips" link on the right side of our homepage. You will be asked to enter your information. Upon entering your information you will be asked to confirm and submit your application. Within 24 hours or 1 business day of receiving your information, one of our friendly Specialists will contact you to complete the membership process.

Apply by Mail:
You may also apply for membership by mailing in an application. You may retrieve the application by selecting the "Apply for Membership" tab, then Membership Application. Please print and complete our membership application, and mail it to us along with a photo copy of your valid identification (drivers license, state issued identification card, military identification card, or US Passport) and $25.00 to establish your membership. Within 1 business day of receiving your application one of our friendly Specialists will call you to complete the membership process and welcome you to our Credit Union.
